Last week (linked if you missed it) started with the first of four posts on how to create your own luck. It was all about living in the moment, laughing and loving. This week is how to use understanding, uniqueness, and utilization to create your own luck. This “LUCK” acronym is a fun way to remember them!
Understand
In the classic Stephen Covey book, “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” one of the habits is, “seek first to understand.” If you regularly do this in all of your relationships then you will feel lucky to have powerful and empowering relationships in your work and at home. It also applies to understanding your own patterns or habits and motivations. Don’t be on autopilot through your life; stop and ask, “Is this serving me?” If not then find a way to change it. The more you do this, the more lucky you will feel.
Unique
You are absolutely the only you there is; no one else can see with your unique perspective. No one else has your unique blend of talents, strengths and experiences. If you cherish this in yourself and respect this in others you will feel lucky a lot of the time.
Utilization
Utilizing those unique strengths of yours will bring you more luck. Just imagine if Olympic swimmer, Michael Phelps, had decided he had to be a basketball player and had given up on swimming? He would never have known the level of his talents. Focus on utilizing your strengths and talents and let the other stuff go for more luck in business and in life.
Next week we will continue with the “C’s” of how to create your own LUCK! Share in a comment how you have created your own luck.

Thank you for these thoughts, Paula!
Very creative and true Paula. I can’t wait to see what you bring us for C and K! Thanks
Your welcome, and thanks Denise for your acknowledgement! And thanks Debbie for your kind words and I’m happy you are looking forward to those next letters! I had to get out my thesaurus for “U” and resisted using the many words that started with “un!”
