I read a couple posts this past week about keeping things simple and not grinding away at things (see links below). It is such a powerful (and simple!) message. I sometimes catch myself making something more complex that it needs to be or inviting struggle into a situation that does not need it or keeping stress levels higher through the constant checking of new e-mails on my phone during any moment of silence (or even sitting at a traffic light).

Earlier today I was talking with some friends about my strong desire to form a coaching group to help professionals reinvent their work life for more joy and success. My description of my need for making this happen came across with anxiety and stress; struggling! Thankfully my friends called me on it and they helped shift me into describing my desire for facilitating a group of people with enthusiasm and excitement.
Often it is difficult to see or hear it our self and we need friends or a coach to recognize the struggle and complicating actions we are putting onto something that really are not necessary.

Next time you are over thinking a challenge or feeling like you need to check for another e-mail again and stay connected all weekend, decide to get in the boat and take a simple yet sophisticated cruise. You will have more energy and be more appreciated by those around you as you navigate to success.
