“The moment you commit and quit holding back, all sorts of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance, will rise up to help you. The simple act of commitment is a powerful magnet for help.”
— Napoleon Hill
As you begin the New Year, ask yourself these questions:
Am I truly following my internalGPS? Is this someone else’s path or what I think I should do versus what I really want to do?
Where am I holding back?
What would I do if I were brave?
(Thanks to the amazing Jana Stanfield for this, her TEDx video is linked, her goal with her songs is “to restore our collective courage.”)
Who will I be to align with my true internalGPS? What behaviors or habits will I change to align with who I want to be and where I am going?
Am I making a difference?
“What’s important is that what you’re doing matters – to yourself, to the people you love, and to something bigger, whether your community, society, or even humanity. Choose fulfillment and passion over “money” and “success.” The latter will follow the former – and without the former, the latter are empty.” – From Umair Haque’s Harvard Business Review blog post, “Mastering the Art of Living Meaningfully Well” Click on the link; he asked his readers for three lessons they would tell a young adult. It is well worth the little time it will take you to read it.
Write your intentions for 2012 that will honor your deepest and truest answers and then commit and make it happen.
One of the largest benefits of following my own internalGPS is working with amazing people like Ed. He works at a large corporation that implemented the Team Advantage coaching process last year. Since working with him, I receive his “Monday Motivators” that he sends out to his teams. This week’s had the Napoleon Hill quote above that I just love and find full of truth.
