Ok, it is impossible to ignore the pile of torn up cardboard, paper, and broken glass in the middle of the kitchen floor from the dog’s rebelliousness while you were out (this was my afternoon today). But you can clean it up quickly and then focus on more productive actions. Or you can rant and rave about it for awhile and let it ruin your mood for the rest of the day. It is a choice.
Choose to take the coaching approach of looking at what is going well to improve business processes or the processes in your life. Choose to focus on the processes that are working well and make them better or duplicate them rather than focusing on what is not going so well (unless it is mess that has to be cleaned up).
What is really working well and giving you the results you want?
If you can’t come up with anything now then look at what worked really well for you in the past.
What was it about that process or situation that made it work so well? Were you using your strengths and talents? Did you have a team of supportive and amazing people?
How can you duplicate those circumstances again to produce great results today or take what is working really well now and expand it to other areas of your business? Brainstorm the possibilities with your coach or a trusted colleague. Get creative in how you look at it, then take a couple small steps to start your momentum and keep going.
Focusing on what is going well and expanding or recreating it will give you a boost of confidence and ultimately positively impact your bottom line for more success with less stress.
Please share what has worked for you in a comment!
