I admit that I am a sucker for a good headline, this one especially appealed to me because I am such a morning person: “5 Things Super Successful People Do Before 8 AM” And then I got even more affirmation because I do 4 out of the 5 things a lot of the time (wish I could say every day). Just this morning, I went on a walk, ate a good breakfast, meditated/visualized, reviewed my day’s to-do list and appointments, all well before 8 AM. The one that I don’t do very consistently is number five: “…do that least desirable task on your list first.” I can see how this would make me more “super successful” and plan to give it a try.
While I see a lot of value with articles like this, I also emphasize with clients that what works for some or most may not be the best fit for you. It does not give you an excuse to throw out the research but I do think it is important to try different routines and find what really works well for your success.
Regardless of what someone else says is the sure-fire way for you to be super successful; there is no one right way. The only wrong way is to not pay attention to the connection of your routine and your results and then not make adjustments accordingly. That will keep you lost and stuck on your path to success.
